Adventure with Riparide
With the support of Riparide, myself and a small group of friends were lucky enough to spend a weekend away at Phillip Island and stay at a beautiful property called The Barefoot Beach House.
We left on a late Friday afternoon and drove right into the heart of peak hour traffic before feeling our shoulders relax and excitement rise while crossing the San Remo bridge into Phillip Island.
Arriving just before sunset, we were immediately impressed with the property. The high ceiling, modern interior and spaciousness made it one of the most beautiful homes we’ve ever stayed in. We put our bags away and wasted little time before enjoying some wine and a game of cards by the warm fire.
The kitchen was clean, organised and extremely well equipped, which made it quite convenient for us to cook breakfast and dinners during our stay.
Having the beach right at our doorstep was a real pleasure. We woke up early to catch the sunrise over the seemingly endless coastline. We strolled along the beach and inhaled the fresh sea air while watching local surfers paddle out into the distance.
The deck out the back was a real highlight and represented a classic slice of Australian life. It was a great hang out space where we often enjoyed a late afternoon drink after returning from the day's activities.
On Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Cape Kitchen Restaurant. It was highly recommended by our host and it certainly did not disappoint. The food and wine was fresh and delicious and the restaurant provided some of the best panoramic views of Phillip Island.
We drove home on Sunday night, reminiscing about our Phillip Island retreat and lamenting our return to city life.
